New York, New York!
Posted by Tamara on June 7th, 2008Next week, the team at Smith are jetting off to New York to chat to various people about our forthcoming launch in the States.
Because I couldn’t bear the thought of spending more than a couple of days away from my one-year-old son, we have decided to bring him along– he can almost manage a keyboard and mouse himself (not to mention his favourite toy, my BlackBerry) – so I’m sure he’ll be a great help with the work we have to do out there.
It occurred to me that, although Mr & Mrs Smith provides great info on New York in the destination pages of our site, and we have a truly fantastic list of boutique hotels there now (especially with this week’s addition of Robert De Niro’s The Greenwich Hotel) - I was having to look elsewhere for things to do with a small child.
Here’s what I found that I thought I would share:
http://www.rookiemoms.com/week-in-new-york – A fantastic blog post giving you and your kids a ready-made itinerary for a week in the Big Apple.
http://www.mommypoppins.com – A great blog about activities, outings, excursions, camps, free stuff and general resources for kids in New York. Every Friday they post about that weekend’s events around the city, so it’s worth subscribing to their RSS feed just before you go.
http://www.centralpark.com/events.php? – Did you know that Central Park has a puppet show, a zoo, a carousel and a climbing wall?
That’s it for now - if I find more I’ll add to this in the comments.
Well here I am in New York and I thought I’d add this website to the list of useful places to find activities for kids in the city.
