As a resident of NY, I do agree with most of the places suggested here especially 'Soba-ya' and 'Dashwood as being the world's best photography book store,' I couldn't agree more. I would also suggest Omen for sushi and spotting who in fashion eats.. or not. And also the Waverly Inn for proper celeb sighting. 

As for The Hotel on Rivington, I would have to disagree. It's loud, obnoxious and the weekend scene at the bar brings out the worse 'Bridge and Tunnel' crowd with their 'smart jeans and no trainers' look.</description>
