Yesterday we had dinner with trend-setting Daily Candy founder Dany Levy, who’s made it her business to know New York’s inside out. Here are her top tips for NYC:

Restaurants Gusto, on Greenwich Avenue; a slick monochrome Italian with a great atmosphere and fantastic lighting. Or try Morimoto, a cutting-edge Japanese place with a feng shui-inspired design in the hip meatpacking district. A great glam evening out. If you like your sushi designer this is the place.

Nail bar Janna, on Greenwich Avenue - great value, and they really take their time over you.

New York weekend hotel The Mayflower – an Orient-influenced townhouse hotel.

Long weekend The Setai in Miami
