DIY postcards
Posted by Juliet on August 7th, 2008I found this great website to make postcards from your own snapshots…
Go to ppme.co.uk, upload your favourite holiday snap, write your own ‘Wish you were here?’ type message and they print and send your image as a postcard for only 99p.
It beats the usual cheesy purple sunset shots and having to find stamps/postbox, plus it gives you a chance to send pics of your progeny to relatives in far-flung lands… here’s one I sent of my wee one in recent trip to New York.

Oh what a cutie:) New York is such a splendid place to visit. I like the postcard idea, I wonder if we have something like that here in the states.

Hold fire! Wait til you hear this… I just got an email from them today entitled ‘Technical fault with image placement.’
includes:
‘…we have been made aware of a technical fault at our printers that has caused a small number of postcards
to exchange images on the day your order was printed.’
They apologised profusely of course. Obv I asked what image they sent..
‘Unfortunately it’s not possible to know exactly what was on the front of the cards at this time’ came the reply.
Cue the old dear I sent a card to through their service gets a photo of a bunch of blokes on a stag weekend pulling moonies!
Anyway, great idea it is for sure… the jury’s out on the service itself! I’ll keep you posted on what photos were sent out supposedly from me! Yikes.

I tried ppme for my holiday postcards this week and they all got to the right place, with the right photo! Wicked site, no traipsing off to find the nearest post office! Thanks for the recommendation.
