Camber Sands - East Sussex
One of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, especially along the South Coast. There are several local towns and villages which are great for families on holiday. I would suggest Rye or Hastings. Accommodation can be found at Rye Tourism - this covers all the local villages as well fo all levels of accommodation.
There is a surf and Kitesurf Centre at the eastern end of the beach for either lessons, hire or just general advice.
The area has loads to offer and well worth a visit, white sand, pretty dunes and a good blue flag beach.

Ooh, ooh, I spotted the Harbourmaster Hotel in the Welsh Tourist Board's new TV ad yesterday - no doubt picked for its picturesque views across the bay. And Broadstairs' old-fashioned bandstand and clifftops featured in a recent wind-power advert, too. Just goes to show how attractive and in vogue the Great British coast still is…

Full marks to Broadstairs for its seven glorious sandy beaches, slightly mad atmosphere, and to Morelli's for using the same chairs they've had since they opened in 1953. And for the man on the bandstand playing the tunes of the same vintage. And for having more great pubs and restaurants per square meal/mile than, er, lots of places…
