I stumbled upon your round-up last week looking to sushi myself up on a trip to see a lady friend in London this past weekend. On your recommendation we visited Tsunami (the big daddy restaurant down in Clapham), and were suitably impressed! Can definitely recommend the unagi (eel to the uninitiated) - easily the best I've had outside Japan. I expected the prices to be as eye-watering as the wasabi, but it was cheaper than I expected. I'll be back!

Thanks for this post. Will stop by these places when I finally travel to London. So far I love the veggie sushi at Yo! Sushi and I've heard Hi Sushi Salsa in Camden is fantastic.

Yum. Centrepoint Sushi in Tottenham Court Road is my all-time favourite, but always good to hear about new places to try.

EEK! Don't tell everyone about the tempura hand rolls at Kulu Kulu! That's top secret insider London information. Damn I love those things. 2 to 3 of those bad boys plus a couple of helpings of spinach with peanut sauce and I'm in heaven.

Thanks Mary -- I haven't been yet but hear intriguing things.

@Nomadic Matt, for amazing value, reluctant as I am to share my all-time favourite (there's usually a queue, come lunchtime), try Kulu Kulu on Brewer Street in Soho (branches in Covent Garden and South Kensington). It's a no-frills kaiten sushi joint (so you help yourself from a conveyor belt), with friendly, swift staff and high standards of sushi slicing. The tempura hand rolls are awesome.
