‘I Love Your Blog’ awards

A big Smithy thank you to Erica Johannssen of photo-based travel blog Travel Blissful who has kindly presented the Smith Travel Blog with an ‘I Love Your Blog’ award.
As much as we’d love to hog the glory and leave it at that, we felt we ought to share the bloggy love a little, so here’s a quick run down of our favourite web spots to while away the day…
Travel industry blogs
Travolution: The definitive news source for anyone working in travel.
Travel Rants: What Travolution does for the industry, Travelrants does for the consumer, with a strong – and vocal – community behind it.
Local travel blogs
Cool Travel Guide: Travel writer Lara Dunston’s insider tips on Dubai and the Middle East.
My Marrakech: The adventures of an ambitious American woman and her family building a guesthouse in Marrakech.
Petite Anglaise: An ever-readable compendium of musings from an English woman in Paris – she has a book coming out too.
New York Daily Photo: Precisely what it says; amazing photos of all facets of New York city life, every day.
Child-friendly travel
Delicious Baby: A fabulous, tip-packed reference point if ever you are travelling with little ones.
Cookie Going Places: Admittedly, I do contribute to this US parenting blog, but I still think it’s one of the best resources out there for globe-trotting mums and dads.
Design
Design*Sponge: It may have a superfluous asterisk, but you can’t fault those interiors.
2 modern Design Talk: Mind-expanding artworks, architecture and furniture.
General coolery
Four Good Corners: A transatlantic internet collision of craft, design, eco-chic and funky finds.
Cool Hunting: Your daily update of everything that’s sexy in art, design, technology and fashion. Essential.
How About Orange: Really beautiful fabrics and quilting that are, yep, predominately orange.
Oh Joy: Inspiring objects and craftworks from around the world.
Bloesom: Even more stylish bits and pieces we lust after.

We quite often blog about wedding & honeymoon topics as so many of the hotels we love tick all the right romance and luxury boxes.

Thank you so much for including Cool Travel Guide on your list! Much appreciated. Although you make me feel even more ashamed for being far too busy to blog recently. We’re on the road in outback Australia, where we have little access to the internet, so I think that’s a pretty good excuse…
