Gown and out in Portland and Montreal

Posted by Kate Pettifer on July 14th, 2009

It’s a familiar dilemma for Mrs Smiths everywhere: you’ve booked a romantic city break but on planning your vacation wardrobe, find it somewhat lacking in luxury boutique-hotel finesse. We think we’ve found the solution – meet Girl Meets Dress (GMD), a website offering designer threads for hire, with fresh frocks in stock weekly.

For as little as a ninth of the price of buying a dress, you can hire one from GMD, work the hotel restaurant as if it’s decked out in red carpet, and justify the entire cost of your minibreak with the savings you’ve made. Just make sure you pick the right dress for the right city…

Flaunt it… all day long, from shopping at Barneys to dinner at Balthazar.
Hang it up: Make your Miu Miu feel at home the Cooper Square Hotel, a slice of Milan in Manhattan.
