Hey Averil

Simon here - a Melbourne Smithster. Thanks for your comments. I’m not sure a month is long enough if you really wanted to road-test all our off the beaten track boltholes, we’re so blessed with them. Come back for good!

I enjoyed this article very much. I just wanted to mention that we rented a timeshare (through http://www.redweek.com) when visiting Queensland, and had the opportunity to really explore the area. We found Ningaloo Reef and that fast became our favorite spot. Really fantastic. And once I'd become convinced that the whale sharks were, indeed, harmless, I almost wanted to bring one home for a pet!

The book sounds fantastic! I'm a NZ native (though currently in the USA) so an off-the-beaten-track type guidebook sounds perfect. I'm going home for a month in December so your book will come out just in time!
