High five from Singapore: Mr & Mrs Smith’s top five city tips
Posted by Lucy on July 27th, 2011The original Mr & Mrs Smith (aka Smith co-founders CEO James and CTO Tamara) are fresh off the plane after visit to Asia and reporting back from action with a mini city guide listing five things to love about Singapore…

1 THE FULLERTON BAY HOTEL’S ROOFTOP POOL (above)
Complete with hidden-away infinity Jacuzzis, a designer bar and jaw-dropping, can’t-take-your-eyes-off-it views of the Marina Bay Sands, the rooftop pool at The Fullerton Bay Hotel is second to none.
2 DIN TAI FUNG
Fast-food steamed-dumpling heaven, where food is created by doctors of dim sum; locals can’t get enough of it. You’ll queue, but Din Tai Fung’s famous pockets of goodness (xiaolongbao) are worth it.
3 CHRISTOPHER NOTO
If you’re looking for something glamorous to ship back for your home, then clear the credit card and visit Christopher Noto for utterly gorgeous, impossibly tasteful objets d’art that your next house guests are guaranteed to comment on.
137–139 Tanglin Road, Tudor Court, Singapore 247928 (+65 6835 9435).
4 TIONG BAHRU FOOD MARKET
Tiong Bahru is a 1930s housing area of Singapore with great art deco buildings. In the centre is a locally loved hawker stall market. Any of the stands is good – don’t go home without trying some prawn noodles and pork buns.
5 ARCHITECTURE
From the new and crazy Marina Bay Sands to 1970s hotel lobbies, traditional shop-houses and new state-of-the-art council blocks incorporating running tracks on the roof – there’s so much to look at!
