Xmas gifts – Becca Cosmetics make-up artist Nikki MarriottNIKKI MARRIOTT, BECCA MAKE-UP ARTIST

Where will you be spending Christmas?
With my family in Hertfordshire.

Where would you really like to spend it?
As much as I love every Christmas spent in the UK, I’d absolutely love to spend a Christmas nestled between the Canadian Rockies and a lake, in a cosy log cabin, with all my family and close friends.

What are you hoping to find under the tree?
I’d be happy with anything, really, although I am currently decorating my room in an art deco style, so I would be over the moon with something art deco –Xmas gifts – Becca travel brush set maybe a vintage poster or some Clarice Cliff ceramics.

What would you buy for Mrs Smith from BECCA?
I’d definitely get the new BECCA travel brush set, and a Lost Weekend eyeshadow palette. The brush set is perfect for popping into your luggage, and the eyeshadows are the perfect shades for winter – a combination of three, so nice and easy.

Becca Beach Tint in WatermelonI would also give one of our Beach Tint cheek and lip stains; perfect for winter-sun Christmas holidays. Watermelon is a great colour, and Fig suits most skin tones.

Stocking fillers - Becca nail polishBest stocking-filler ideas?
BECCA nail varnishes, or Butter Balm for dry lips: perfect for these chilly winter days and après-ski nights. Another idea is a makeover voucher from the Hair & Make-up Dept in Soho, a cool little London salon.

Xmas gifts - Liberty of London

Where do you do your Christmas shopping? Do you have a favourite Christmas shop?
I love going around the vintage shops and charity shops of my East End neighbourhood, finding intricate little things, or vintage scarves and jewellery. But my favourite shop, I have to say, is Liberty.

How do you wrap your Christmas presents?
I love to wrap my gifts in magnolia-coloured paper with gold ribbon – classic.

Best Christmas gift ever?
Xmas gifts - retro-style record playerA retro-style record player. I adore it!

Worst?
Pyjamas. With sheep printed on them. Awful.

Psst… Smith members get up to 25% off cult BECCA beauty products online or in store; as well as up to 20% off Liberty online.

Christmas Gift Guide - Sarah Curran, my-wardrobe.comSARAH CURRAN, FOUNDER OF ONLINE BOUTIQUE MY-WARDROBE.COM

Where are you spending Christmas?
At home in Great Bowden, Leicestershire, with my son Jake. I’ve already put up the tree and I can’t wait to spend Christmas Day in front of the fire with Jake and the dogs. On the first weekend in December, we wrote Jake’s letter to Father Christmas and followed our family tradition of putting into the fireplace to send it.

And where would you like to spend it?
I could say somewhere hot and tropical like the Maldives, but really I can’t imagine anything better than getting together with my family to eat and drink too much and watch films beside a roaring fire.

What are you hoping to find under the tree?Xmas gifts - luxury scarf by Mulberry at my-wardrobe.com
A gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust.
But I’d be very happy with a Michael Kors Chronograph in gold.

What from my-wardrobe.com would you give to Mr Smith?
A Burberry Brit trench coat and an oversized Mulberry scarf for that Christmas Day walk with the dogs.

Stocking fillers – Smythson Travel Clutch at my-wardrobe.com

Best stocking-filler ideas?
Anything from Smythson: it’s like a sweet shop –all beautiful pops of colour – and the leather card holders and embossed notelets make such stylish stocking fillers.Stocking fillers - Lindt chocolate reindeer Of course, there’s always cashmere socks and a Lindt reindeer: a must for any stocking.

Where do you do your Christmas shopping?
Honestly? My-wardrobe of course! I have also bought quite a few gifts from Diptyque; their candles, fragrances and scented body products make divine gifts. I’ve also just discovered the Urban Retreat Beautique, a one-stop shop for all the best (and my favourite) beauty brands.

Gift wrap – Alice by Temperley for my-wardrobe.com

How do you wrap your gifts?
I have a bit of an obsession for gift wrapping – one of the reasons we launched our designer gift-wrap service. I like to co-ordinate everything under the tree.I go to town on glossy paper and thick grosgrain ribbon in a big bow. This year, I have stock-piled our exclusive Alice by Temperley and YMC paper plus black ribbon for wrapping all my gifts.

Best Christmas present ever?
A simple gold heart locket, with a lock of Jake’s baby hair. I wear it every day.

Blues Brothers statuesWorst?
My French cousin gave me some mini statues of the Blues Brothers, which was pretty random. I didn’t like the film and I’m not a huge fan of statues.

Psst… Mr & Mrs Smith can get you up to 20% off my-wardrobe.com shopping.

Christmas Gift Guide - Louise Graham, Graham & Green LOUISE GRAHAM OF GRAHAM & GREEN

Where will you be spending Christmas?
We’ll be spending Christmas in our house in Goa for the first time ever, so we are super excited. We’ll be 16 in total, with members of the family flying in from far-flung reaches of the globe. We’re going to Rajasthan for New Year and treating ourselves to a few nights in some amazing hotels! I can’t wait.

Where would you most like to spend it?
There is nothing quite like an English Christmas in the countryside, which is what we usually do, but I am quite excited about the prospect of a hot Christmas without the usual British traditions.

Christmas in India - Jaipur, Rajasthan

What are you hoping to find under the Christmas tree?
We’re not doing Christmas presents this year… apart from our three-week trip to India!

What from your own collection would you give your own Mr Smith?
This is quite possibly the most unromantic gift in the world, but my Mr Smith has been dropping hints about a set of brushed stainless steel steak knives he has had his eye on. This is a gift that could be interpreted in all sorts of ways and one that certainly won’t be coming on the plane with me!

Stocking fillers - fake moustaches from Graham & Green

Best stocking-filler ideas?
These fake moustaches have been a hit with the men this Christmas. Who’d have thought it!

Where do you do your Christmas shopping?
I do most of my Christmas shopping from our Graham & Green shops; when you spend the year buying gorgeous things for others to buy – like we do – it’s a treat to buy some of the bits we’ve found for ourselves and our loved ones.

How do you wrap your gifts?
We usually buy rolls of brown paper and decorate them. My son Max loves potato printing! We buy a selection of vintage-style ribbons and luggage labels – you get a really lovely home-made look to your gifts.

Hugo Guinness print - Bull TerrierBest Christmas present ever?
Last year I was given a Hugo Guinness bull terrier print in a vintage gold frame. He is such a character and it was love at first sight. I named him Bertie, and he stands proudly on the wall in our bedroom.

Worst?
I have buried the memories of bad presents somewhere in the depths, never to be unearthed. Plus you never know who might be reading this. I wouldn’t want to embarrass anyone!

Psst… Smith members get up to 20% off Graham & Green gifts and homewares online.

Watch out for Part 2 of our Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide 2011 tomorrow, with more shopping offers and gorgeous gift ideas from the stylish little elves at perfect-present people the Handpicked Collection, to-die-for chocolatiers Melt, and the real-life Mr & Mrs Smith…

  1. You’ve pretty much helped me sort all my stocking fillers here. Like the fake moustaches a lot, they’ll bring a hint of festive humour to the proceedings at the table on Christmas day…might have lost their touch by Boxing day but 24 hours of fun can’t be all bad!
