Happy Chinese New Year!

Xin Nian Kuai Le! Or for the Cantonese speakers out there, Gung Hay Fat Choi! Wherever you’re celebrating Chinese New Year in 2013 we wish you well, and welcome to the Year of the Snake…

It is officially this Sunday 10 February but expect fireworks, feasting and family visits for at least five days kicking off Saturday, from Beijing to Shanghai, Hong Kong to Singapore, and all Asian stops in between. Look out for Chinatown celebrations further afield, as well, with San Francisco, London, Vancouver, New York, Melbourne and Sydney all famous for their festivities.

Happy holidays… now go stuff yourself with jiao zi (dumplings).

I saw the parade to celebrate the Chinese New Year starting at Trafalgar Square here in London.
The parade concluded in Chinatown with a firework display
    It was amazing!
