Juliet Kinsman: When I was told our second show would…
Our global escapades this month have taken us to a host of new favourite haunts. We began in the UK, at reinvented rustic retreat Dormy House in the Cotswolds. Then, for something completely different, we jetted off to the beachfront, palm-shaded Constance le Prince Maurice in Mauritius (above).
After that, we hit the US. We started our American trek out west, enjoying the cool chalet chic of Viceroy Snowmass in Colorado. Next, the East Coast beckoned… we got a dose of downtown cool at Manhattan’s Viceroy New York (where the view from the bar is one of the city’s best) before making our way to the charming Capella Washington DC, nestled among the capital’s cobbled streets and historic homes.
Just as we were about to admit that winter truly is coming, we had a brainwave — down under, it’s summer! There’s no fear of a heatwave at 1888 Hotel in Sydney, though: this industrial conversion’s far too cool for that. Another delightfully stylish spot is to be found up in Malaysia, where Penang is home to the bright white and whimsical Macalister Mansion (above).
And now, we’re off to make our worldwide rounds to find our next gaggle of very special stays. Check back in a month to see where we’ve been!
