Chewton Glen hotel in the New Forest is the sort of Hampshire haven that makes a marvellous midwinter hideout: it’s all cosy nooks, sumptuous spa, 24-hour room service and magically appearing staff (the staff-to-guest ratio is two-to-one).

Why this week? We’ve been excitedly awaiting the unveiling of the newly overhauled suites, and they’re finally ready to book (right). Chewton Glen hotel in Hampshire: new suitesTo celebrate, we’ve got a handy two-nights-for-the-price-of-one treat for you; book now to take advantage of the half-price rate until the end of January, 2014.

Our favourite bits… Chewton’s gorgeously grown-up five-roomed gastrodome (aka Vetiver) has a cosmopolitan menu serving guests whatever, whenever; whether you fancy a casual brunch or five-course, wine-matched tasting menu, it’s all seasonally themed and skilfully produced by chef Andrew du Bourg and his brigade. And, once you’ve eaten your fill, Chewton Glen is ideal for aquatic lounging, with heated pools indoors and out, as well as Europe’s largest hydrotherapy pool in the spa.

But this place is far too well bred to be stuffy or pretentious.’ Read the full anonymous review of Chewton Glen

You say… ‘We spent a lovely weekend at Chewton Glen to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It’s a super hotel and the staff upgraded us and made our room very nice.’ Margaret, SilverSmith, stayed in August 2013
