‘Tis the season to enjoy the ‘Christmas Pudicure’ at Brown’s Hotel… This unique 90-minute pedicure treatment in the chic spa of this London hotel is the perfect antidote to anyone who’s been pounding the pavements to do their Christmas shopping. The Paul Smith-decorated Christmas tree is reason alone to pop into Brown’s too this season…
Treat your feet or a special someone’s with this seasonal spa treatment. This is no common or garden hoof spruce – it’s an hour and half of pure pampering at this modern classic hotel in London’s most well-heeled neighbourhood. Being asked if you’d like a glass of chilled Champagne or a gourmet hot chocolate to sip as you recline on a heated treatment bed is a suitably sybaritic start to this spoiling spell in Brown’s Hotel.
Next your lucky pins are treated to a soothing black treacle massage and a fragrant scrub of oranges, apples, sultanas, apricots and sugar. It’s not often that foot unguents sound good enough to eat. With your feet buffed and your nails shaped, next they’re fast-tracked to baby-soft skin thanks to a luxurious soak in hot cinnamon-spiced milk. The pressure-point foot massage using shea butter soon had me nodding off like a granny post-Queen’s speech and a big boozy Christmas.
Lying back in this soothing spa, clad toe-to-ankle in a cinnamon paraffin foot wrap it was hard to imagine that just above, HIX at The Albemarle and the Donovan Bar were buzzing with residents, diners and drinks…
And also press and photographers there to take snaps of fashion designer Paul Smith (who has a shop just down the street at number nine) and his Christmas decorations (his creative team designed the baubles pictured here). Brown’s is also hosting an art auction to raise funds for Maggie’s Cancer Charity, with works from Tracey Emin and Peter Clark currently on display around the hotel, and open to bids.
Meanwhile, as the delightful therapist, Sharren (pictured) painted my nails a suitably holly-berry-red Essie nail polish, I wondered if I could get away with swapping sheepskin boots for open-toe slingbacks for the rest of the week in Siberian-climed London?
The ‘Christmas Pudicure’ treatment is priced £85, and available until 31 January. Brown’s Hotel is on Albemarle Street in Mayfair, London W1S 4BP. Paul Smith has an interiors shop at 9 Albemarle Street.
