Why this week? If you are feeling run down and weary, here’s a prescription: take a relaxing holiday in Mykonos. Few medicines can compete with bucketloads of sunshine, especially since you can extend your stay to five nights for the price of four until 20 July. That means a whole extra day spent lounging in your oversized bed or by the large pool, cosmopolitan in hand.

Our favourite bits Perched on the edge of the protected beach of Agios Stefanos, this secluded boutique hotel strips back all unnecessary distractions to offer an intimate setting for pampering and relaxation. With glittering ocean views stretching out before you and white cotton-clad staff ready at the drop of a hat, the emphasis here is on spoiling guests. Large sun loungers line the rooftop pool terrace, where treats such as frozen fruit juice shots or iced towels occasionally appear. Inside the spa, there’s a large steam room, a ‘serpentine’ shower and a treatment room available for everything from a soothing massage to manicure sessions.

Mr & Mrs Smith say… ‘The Greek Gods must have had it good all those years ago – with the island of Mykonos as their playground. It would have provided just the right mix of glamour, beauty and mischief for the fun-loving deities. On the other hand, they wouldn’t have been able to stay at this incredibly boutique hotel in Mykonos…painted in the requisite white. In fact, white is the watchword at Mykonos Grace; from the double-sized sun loungers on the rooftop pool terrace to the flowing cotton uniforms of the super-friendly staff. Thirst-quenching, freshly squeezed mango juice in hand, we were given our own guided tour of the hotel – spa, lounge with free internet, DVD-packed library, terrace – complete with telescope for nightly star-gazing – and finally our westward-facing room with king-sized bed (white again, of course). A splash of colour is provided by a huge modern painting over the bed and from the balcony – which overlooks the invitingly azure Aegean sea and the island of Delos beyond.’ Read the full Grace Mykonos review.

However, the main thing that makes this hotel stand out is the staff – they were all amazing: at breakfast, at the pool, at lunch and in the evening. They were attentive to our every need – and more. They were really helpful with places to go and visit, car hire and dinner reservations. They couldn’t have provided a more personable service.’ (Thomas, Silversmith, stayed 9 September 2012) Read more Grace Mykonos hotel reviews from Smith’s Guestbook.
