Made the most of the British heatwave? As the crowds disperse and the temperature mellows, the summer-sass of St Tropez gives way to a more tranquil atmosphere and our hotel of the week, the Riviera-luxe boutique hideaway Muse St Tropez, provides that perfect polished pampering and blooming rural scenery to ease the tension of a well-lived summer out of our shoulders…

Style Heavenly hedonist’s hideaway
Setting Secret Riviera garden

Why this week? With the onset of autumn the region’s winemakers prepare for the annual grape harvest, sparking the Fête des Vendanges – a festival in celebration of the vintage held across various vineyards surrounding St Tropez – drawing the attention of the international (and duly hedonistic) wine community. With our compelling Smith-exclusive offers, you can indulge in the local produce and not spend the day…

Our favourite bits The hotel’s terracotta-charm facade gives way to a cabana-lined communal infinity-edged pool, providing an oh-so-Côte d’Azur space to recline away those languid daylight hours. The suitably relaxed dining schedule sees breakfast served till 4pm, lunch till 7pm and dinner, 11pm; it’s all well-and-truly up to you. Every room is named after a famous female muse (Edith, Greta, Romy, Audrey… you get the picture), each with its own defining features: Edith has a bar and private wine cellar, for example, and Catherine a walk-in wardrobe and massage area.

Mr and Mrs Smith say ‘St Tropez is no stranger to the jet-set A-list crowd, and Muse hotel attracts its fair share – Pharrell Williams and Missy Elliot are both firm fans – but that’s not to say it’s a showy sort of establishment. In fact, it’s the total opposite: relaxed, laid-back, but just effortlessly superior. Out in the gorgeous gardens, enjoy a round of pétanque, sit up for a sundowner at the bar or just letthe white curtains of your cabana blow gently in the breeze as you hide out behind them. The restaurant is centred on the pool, and offers light lunches in the day and fine dining by night. Bring your biggest sunglasses; get those limbs suitably golden, just don’t act starstruck if Pharrell is on the next sunlounger…’
