We began our global hotel-hunting trek this month in the Maldives, where Constance Halaveli‘s white-sand beach, overwater spa and romantic mid-jetty restaurant more than won us over. Then, we were off to another watery wonderland: San José del Cabo in Mexico, where the very cool Hotel El Ganzo is Los Cabos’ first hip design hotel that doubles as a local arts-and-culture hub.
Our third seaside stay was Tower23 in San Diego (its restaurant, JRDN, is one of the top tables in town, so book ahead). Further up the coast in San Francisco, the knowingly hip Hotel Zetta awaits, all original local art, high-tech gadetry and free yoga classes on Saturday mornings.
Finally, we made our way to Marrakech. In town, stylishly understated boutique hotel Riad Dixneuf la Ksour is just minutes from the iconic Koutoubia mosque on a quiet medina backstreet; 40 minutes away, dashingly modernist Le Palais Paysan has spectacular Atlas Mountain views.
