Unique in the Smith collection, Bay of Fires Lodge & Walk in north-east Tasmania combines a stay at a boutique eco-retreat with an inspiring two-day guided trek along one of Australia‘s iconic coastlines. Turquoise seas, snow-white beaches and wildlife-filled bush make the Bay of Fires the perfect place to recharge…
1 Day One kicks off in Mt William National Park, with a flat, nine-kilometre coastal trek and jaw-dropping ocean views.
This week, our prize-scooping hotel is a decadent den in a rather smart corner of the city that never sleeps. Numerous 24-hour options aside, we reckon you’ll be hankering after a nap if your bed happens to be at The Surrey hotel in New York…

Our favourite bits The building, and then the bathrooms: the 1930s Beaux Arts structure has a Lauren Rottet-designed interior, which nods to Chanel with its padded leather walls and writing pads, white and black lacquer and a bar modelled on a powder compact. The bathrooms have grey- and white-veined marble surfaces, black, etched water glasses and thick Pratesi bathrobes.
