MRS SMITH’S CITY-LUXE PACKING TIPS
To celebrate the arrival of Mr & Mrs Smith’s hot new Barcelona hotel collection (check out the blog posts on our latest hotel launches), we’ve been checking out the biggest trends from the city’s Bread and Butter fashion fair. The B&B trade event is one of the most influential global meetings of the coolest brands, labels and designers, and this month, Mrs Smith’s weekend-wardrobe essentials are based on the three biggest Spanish style stories to have emerged from the fair this year:
1. PURPLE
Colour blocking is one of Spring’s biggest looks, and purple is the hottest hue to be seen in, so this hot pink and purple McQueen scarf is the perfect way to inject a bit of colour into any part of your capsule Wardrobe: onboard, offboard and bang on trend.
Silk scarf, £135, Alexander McQueen at Matches
2. BORROWED FROM THE BOYS
YSL’s tuxedo style is a classic that has been re-worked more times than Jade Jagger has flown first class to Ibiza. This time around, the fash pack are giving the manly style a girlie edge by turning the tux into a curve-skimming shirt dress.

3. THE PEG LEG
Another blokey trend… and if you’re on a budget, this 7/8 trouser length is the one buy that will prove your style credentials this season and beyond. If you’re brave, go for the super-stylish tapered shape. If you’re not an off-duty model, the peg leg harem pant is far more forgiving… C’mon now: let Las Ramblas be your catwalk!
Khaki trousers, £40, Miss Selfridge
LAST BUT NOT LEAST…
Rejoice! Strappy glad sandals are still big news, and this gem-embellished, zippered and platformed pair from Carvela tick every trend box going. Even better, all those straps will keep you steady after cava cocktails at Hotel Pulitzer’s rooftop bar, Visit Up.
Gem gladiator sandals, £140, Carvela at Kurt Geiger

Barcelona is one of the most famous and popular cities in Spain. This is a bohemian town on the west coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Perhaps best known for his eccentric modernist architecture, especially stand out buildings the architect of the famous Gaudi. This is beautiful city.

Thanks for the information! I love Barcelona and am looking forward to going back.I will have to be sure to take some strappy sandals for when I return. I especially love Antonio Gaudi’s work, which can be found all over Barcelona; every single one is a masterpiece. The Temple de la Sagrada Familia is so intricate; it is the most beautiful and artistic temple I have ever seen.
