Pop-up vintage boutique at the Pelham

Pelham Vintage Fair, LondonThe Pelham shows off its Spring Vintage Collection this weekend, when Ooh la la Vintage and Madame Tra La La sashay into its pretty parlours with their affordable vintage buys and wise investment dressing tips.

Saturday 25 April and Sunday 26 April (10am-6pm)
The Pelham Hotel, 15 Cromwell Place, South Kensington, London SW7 2LA

Last month, I gave you a heads-up about this one-stop style haven for all your vintage needs from gorgeous bags and burlesque hats to retro jewellery and dresses. My appetite for retro was whet all over again with Eva Wiseman’s excellent report in The Observer, yesterday, on Portland, Oregan. As enticing as the thrift-shop treasures in Oregon seem, thankfully this South Ken stay is a little closer to home.

Vintage Encore

Pelham hotel, LondonCourtesy of Madame Tra La La, there will also be exclusive vintage-inspired design in the shape of cheeky  Deauville-striped knickerbockers made with vintage silks, one-off dresses using vintage scarf silks from Paris, and the chance to see the new vintage offerings from Madame Tra La La that can be made and ordered to individual colour and size specification. The collection will feature original Parisian designs from all eras – including romantic Forties’ puffed-sleeved crepe and Thirties’ velvet dresses, light wool peplum suits, lace flapper style dresses and floral Mad Men-inspired summer gowns.

Our cup of tea

We’ll also be treating ourselves to a Pelham Vintage tea for two while we’re there: homemade cakes, cucumber sandwiches, and a glass of champagne? Yes, please.
