Usually when your job requires you spend the night in…
The summer tan has barely reached pale gold, but already retailers are already decking the halls and showing off their Christmas wares. It might seem a tad depressing to see fir trees and mince pies in July, but at least it means the Xmas shopping is sorted. This week Selfridges in London unveiled its most fabulous festive gifts – and good job too because waiting lists for some of the more luxe limited-edition goods are already starting to get longer than the queues at Santa’s grotto.
As Smith’s resident gaddabout spendthrift style expert, I dropped in and found the perfect gift for the man in your life*.
(I also saw the BEST gift a gal could want but am sworn to secrecy until October … suffice to say it has naff all to do with travel but it does have to do with Christian Louboutin and Piper Heidsick and will keep you in dirty weekends with your ladylove for years.)
Manbag maestro Bill Amberg (who, I might add, offers Smith members 15 per cent off in his store and online) has teamed up with Johnnie Walker Blue Label to create a range of travel bags perfect for the wanderlust-struck sophisticat. The navy blue leather range (including the Blue Label Traveller, Blue Label Weekender and Blue Label Overnighter) is smart enough to hold its own next to the plushest of luggage collections, but the fact that it comes with a bottle of really rather nice whisky makes it even tastier.
We’re loving the overnighter with built-in pocket for tipples on your travels.
So save all your shiny Christmas pennies and get to Selfridges in September – prices from £220–£1,200.
*from you, not me – I haven’t been near the guy, honest.
