Festival season? Pshh. It’s all about fete season now, and the mother of all fetes just happens to be upon us. Urban Village Fete, a modern take on a traditional village fair, takes place in London on 15 May. There will be music, food, crafts, art and a giant dancing Slinky.

Wear Dancing shoes. Gilles Peterson is on resident DJ duty, plus Charity Shop DJ will be spinning. Also, Mr Wilsons Second Liners promise to bring a taste of New Orleans music to the party.
