First thing you do when you check into a hotel Belly flop on the bed.
You never leave home without… My high and low-tech essentials: running shoes, mini JAMBOX and iPhone charger. I have to exercise, listen to tunes and make sure I have enough battery life to take tons of pictures.
Best souvenir… The wine that I bottled with my friend Guido and his father Franco at their tiny vineyard in Piedmont, Italy.
Meal you’ll never forget… Dinner at that same vineyard in Piedmont with Guido, his mom Clara and Franco. We spent the morning with Franco foraging and shopping for ingredients. In the afternoon, we cooked with Clara using all that we had gathered from the woods and their garden. Dinner was ethereal!
Best emerging food scene… Lisbon, Portugal
What do you love most about your restaurants… Simple, honest food made with impeccable ingredients.
Favourite restaurant (other than your own, of course)… Fish & Game in Hudson, New York
Quintessential New York… Great NY Noodletown restaurant in Chinatown at 3 am.
