Ronda Carman in New York Last month, we met luxury lifestyle blogger Ronda Carman, the style-seeking online radar who picks up on ‘All the Best‘ luxury travel and design trends. She scours the globe for everything from the world’s best hotel rooms and champagne to interior-design trends, so we knew she’d have some great travel tips to share. Here are some secrets from her insider address book…

Tell us about your corner of the world – where do you live and what do you love about it?

I am a native Texan. We moved to Scotland in 2005, and we love living here. The people are friendly, the hills and glens are beautiful, delicious seafood comes from the lochs, and whisky is a delightful drink. I do miss my family and the Texas weather, but I fly home 3–4 times a year.

Oakville Grocery – Napa Valley food and wineMy favorite gourmet food store in Napa Valley:

Oakville Grocery
St Helena Highway
CA 94562
(+1 707 944 8802)

At the corner of Oakville Crossroad and Highway 29, not far from the delightful Poetry Inn, the Oakville Grocery has been in business since 1881.

For decades, it has been the ‘must-stop’ location for wine, food and picnic supplies in Napa Valley.

My favorite place for drinks in New York:

Blue Smoke
116 East 27th Street
NY 10016
(+1 212 447 7733)

Their Bleu Smoke Martinis are the best: Stolichnaya vodka, Ardbeg 10-year-old Whisky and blue cheese-stuffed olives.

My favourite restaurant in Paris:

Le Petit Saint Benoit
4 rue Saint Benoit
75006 Paris
(+33 (0)1 42 60 27 92)

This is a Paris restaurant dating back to 1901. The interior seems equally old, right down to the tin ceiling and tarnished mirrors. The daily menu is handwritten and then duplicated using the old dittomaster method of the 1960s.Paris and Mallorca

Their Beef Bourguignon is easily the best we have ever eaten. A delicious mélange of flavors: the tender beef fell apart in the rich deep broth. My husband and I order loads of bread just to soak up the juices.

If you go to Petit Saint Benoit, do get there when they open to get a table, as it usually fills up quickly. And, just as in 1901, they still do not take credit cards!

My favorite souvenir shop in Mallorca, Spain:

Ceramiques Monti-Sion
19 Mont i Sión, 19
07460 Pollença
(+34 971 533500)

This sweet ceramics shop is located in Old Town Pollensa; I love their colorful pottery.
